POS Terms of Use

  1. When the actual card is presented, transactions are carried out at the electronic transaction acceptance devices (EFT/POS), which will read the Card’s chip, either after it is inserted into the electronic transaction acceptance devices (EFT/POS), or by contactless use of the Card by bringing it close to the electronic transaction acceptance devices (EFT/POS), (provided the Card and the electronic transaction acceptance device (EFT/POS) are supported by the relevant contactless transaction technology) without having to come into contact with it (“contactless transactions” ). Transactions carried out at the company’s offices or at any of its branches in which the actual Card is presented are considered successful and complete as follows: a) when the transaction is carried out by reading the chip after inserting the Card into the special slot of the electronic transaction reception device (EFT/POS), the transaction is completed by correctly typing the PIN in the above devices and without requiring the signature of the bill card from the Owner b) when the transaction is carried out by reading the chip, but via contactless use of the Card, as long the relevant technology is supported, by approaching it to the compatible electronic device for accepting transactions (EFT/POS), without having to come into contact with it, the transaction is completed by correctly typing the PIN on the above devices and without requiring the Owner to sign the debit slip. As long as the amount of each contactless transaction does not exceed the maximum amount set by the respective Organization, then it can be completed without requiring the Cardholder to enter the PIN of the Card.
The use of the Card’s PIN, where required, fully replaces the Cardholder’s signature. In cases where the electronic transaction receiving device (EFT/POS) does not support the reading of the Card’s chip, the transactions are carried out by reading the magnetic strip on its back and are completed by the Cardholder’s signature on the debit slips or receipts that are issued by the electronic transaction reception devices (EFT/POS), without requiring the Cardholder to enter the PIN of the Card.
  2. Transactions carried out remotely (Internet transactions) are considered successful and complete with the provision and registration, as the case may be, of the required special security details of the Card.
Depending on the type and category of the transaction, all or some of the following information may be requested: i) the card number and expiration date, ii) the special three-digit identification number (CVV2), which is printed on the back of the card, iii) the name of the Card owner, iv) any other necessary information, which may be requested based on the security protocols applied from time to time by any other organization with which the company cooperates or may cooperate in the future. In order to complete the above transactions, insofar as they fall within the scope of the company’s Payment Services Agreement with its Bank, Strong Identification of the Cardholder is required, using secure methods used by the Bank cooperating with the company (indicatively they refer to: active user codes, biometric data, identification of the Owner’s device, extraPlN. push notification) with the combination of which Strong Identification is achieved. The Cardholder must have registered a mobile phone in the Bank’s electronic banking system to receive notifications (push notification, extraPlN) and have in their possession active user codes of the Bank’s electronic banking system which they register upon instructions from their Bank and in accordance with their instructions.
  3. The Card is a means of paying the price of a legal transaction, which, like its other terms, the Holder has previously agreed to and regardless of its use. If a credit note is issued in favor of the Cardholder for the return of the investment or for another reason, the company credits the main account of the Cardholder linked to the Card with the same amount, only if the credit is transferred to the Bank in accordance with the relevant procedures. The Bank is not necessarily contractually connected with the companies for these purposes and in any case is not exclusively connected, is not involved in the relations between the Cardholder and the company and consequently does not bear any responsibility towards the Cardholder for acts or omissions of the company with which the Cardholder transacts. Therefore, the Cardholder is not entitled to raise any claim, objection or demand against the Bank that they have against the company in relation to transactions in which they used the Card.
  4. A tax document is issued for each transaction with the Card. The transactions are recorded in the memory of the bank’s system with their complete data, as well as the processing data on behalf of the Bank of the Cardholder’s orders. For every transaction with the Card that results in the debiting or crediting of the Cardholder’s account connected to said Card, if technically possible, a computerized note of its imprint is issued with its withdrawal. All the entries registered in the Bank’s system and the related printouts of the Bank’s system, regarding the Cardholder’s transactions, carried out using the Card, are binding for the Cardholder and constitute full proof against him of the execution of the transaction, however, disputing a transaction is allowed. In case of disagreement with a transaction, which results in the debiting or crediting of an account linked to their Card, the Cardholder must, as soon as they become aware of the transaction, notify the Bank in writing using a form or written letter, that is received by the authorized bodies of the Bank, stating at the same time the reasons for their disagreement.
  5. No costs are charged by the company for each transaction through the customer’s card.
  6. The customer’s account is credited as soon as the funds from the card payment are credited to the company’s account. If for any reason this credit does not take place from the Cardholder’s (customer’s) bank, the amount of the transaction will be due in full and if it is not paid within a reasonable time, the company has the right to withdraw from the contract.
